Roper to retire in 2018 after 17 years at company helm

The Boston Beer Co. Inc., Boston, announced that Martin Roper, president and chief executive officer (CEO), plans to retire in 2018 after leading the company for more than 17 years. The Board of Directors has created a search committee and retained Korn Ferry to assist in identifying and evaluating the best candidates to succeed Roper as CEO, the company says.
To meet increasing popularity and demand on the heels of its April launch in select major cities, Truly Spiked & Sparkling, a brand of Boston-based The Boston Beer Co., announced its new spiked sparkling water has expanded distribution.
Three cities in Maryland recently named October “Shore Craft Beer and Hard Cider Month.” One of them in Ocean City, also hosted a Shore Craft Beer Festival, which took place Oct. 24 and featured local brewers, according to the Caroline Times Record.

The virtual competition will be hosted on www.entrepreneur.com and allows small-business owners to submit a product sales pitch for a chance to participate in the in-person final round and pitch to a panel of expert judges and retail buyers, the company says.
