Through in-house innovation and extensive market testing, Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co. announced that Coca-Cola Zero is getting a new name, a new look and more robust taste. The no-calorie carbonated soft drink now will deliver a better-tasting recipe and be called Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, the company says.

Red Bull USA, Santa Monica, Calif., announced the arrival of three new Red Bull Editions products. The company is expanding the Red Bull Editions line with Red Bull Purple Edition Sugarfree, Red Bull Lime Edition Sugarfree and Red Bull Green Edition, offering Red Bull with the tastes of Açaí Berry, Limeade and Kiwi Apple, respectively, it says.
Obesity rates have more than doubled in adults and children since the 1970s, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Approximately 78.6 million adults are overweight or obese, with 12.7 million children and adolescents in the same category.
Packaging opens sparkling waters up to new channels

Cascade Ice, a brand of Everett, Wash.-based Unique Beverage Co. LLC, will introduce a proprietary 7-ounce slim bottle design for a select few of its zero-calorie sparkling flavored waters. Beginning in September, Cascade Ice Lemonade, Coconut, Black Raspberry, Orange Mango and Pink Grapefruit varieties will be available in individual 7-ounce bottles and six-packs of 7-ounce bottles.
