Samuel Adams, a brand of Boston-based The Boston Beer Co., released Time Hop Porter, a limited-edition hopped porter brewed with San Diego-based ChuckAlek Independent Brewers. The collaboration beer is the culmination of a year-long program, Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream Brewing and Business Experienceship, which annually provides one craft brewer with hands-on brewing and business coaching, the company says. Sam Adams established the program to help small-craft breweries get a leg-up in the industry, it adds.
The Boston Beer Co. Boston, reported its first-quarter 2015 net revenue at $199.5 million, which is an increase of $15.7 million, or 8.5 percent, compared with the same period last year, the company says. The increase is mainly due to core shipment growth of 6 percent, it says. Net income for the first quarter was $13.7 million, or $1 per diluted share, an increase of $5.4 million, or 38 cents per diluted share, from the first quarter of last year, it reports. This increase was primarily due to shipment increases and slightly improved gross margins, it explains.
Available from mid-August through October, The Boston Beer Co.will offer its 2011 Samuel Adams Harvest Collection Variety 12-pack, including Boston Lager, OctoberFest, Irish Red, Harvest Pumpkin Ale, Black Lager and its new style, Bonfire Rauchbier.
