Hosted by Global Food Forums Inc., the 2014 Weight Management Technologies Seminar is an in-person product development event focused on providing practical, how-to formulation advice to research and development (R&D)/food scientists working in this arena. Typical sessions will include formulation information on satiety and reduced-calorie foods, beverages and nutritional products, as well as strategic approaches to weight management product development. Sessions will provide insights on regulations, emerging understandings in nutrition and consumer attitudes, and weight management products. The keynote address will come from International Food Network Associate Director Scott Martling. Titled “An Insider’s Perspective to Weight Management Product Development,”Martling’s keynote will explore some of the developed tactics — both the successes and the failures — to help predict the future of weight management product development. Using case studies, the presentation will share practical insights gathered from R&D professionals who have worked for years in this specific area.
Registration currently is open for the seminar, which will take place at the Westin Hotel in Itasca, Ill. It will begin with an evening reception Sept. 29, followed by technical sessions Sept. 30.
