Pre-Socratic Greek philosopher Heraclitus said “The only thing that is constant is change.” Applicable to nearly all walks of life, the consumer packaged goods market has come to embody this quote as the market welcomes a number of new products, brands and even categories.
New and innovative products have helped contribute to SKU proliferation throughout the beverage industry, particularly within the craft beer and craft spirits markets. However, as these craft brewers and distillers look to push the envelope with their new releases, ingredient suppliers are looking to provide them with the tools they need to maintain that edge in the market.
After much pestering, Sam-I-Am finally was able to get his unnamed friend to try the unfamiliar dish of green eggs and ham in Dr. Seuss’ popular children’s book “Green Eggs and Ham.” Although the unidentified character is rather elaborate about the reasons why he did not want to try the meal, in the end, readers learn how much he has come to embrace the non-traditional item.
Although it might not look it outside, if you are in the Midwest or Northeast, summer isn’t too far away. In anticipation of summer activities and the food and beverages that accompany many of them, beverage-makers have started rolling out new products to complement the season.
