World Packaging Expo Preview

World Packaging Expo Preview

Emballage, the world packaging exposition, will be held Nov. 20-24 in France. The biennial international show offers exhibits in packaging business, innovation and sectorization. Held once again at the Parc des Expositions in Paris-Nord Villepinte, France, the event is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors from 130 countries. Atten-dees visit the trade show to see packages, packaging machines, handling, printing and other exhibits.
Continuing its international growth, this year’s Emballage will feature exhibitors and attendees from the growing Eastern Europe, Middle East and distant export countries such as Brazil, New Zealand and China. Emballage is said to gather the whole of the world supply and demand because “everything is packaged.” The multi-industry exhibition showcases equipment, new products and trends in packaging with 2,300 exhibitors in four halls.
Though it covers all areas of packaging, 29 percent of products are dedicated to the food and beverage industry, including more than 400 new products. Impressively, this year’s conference will feature a dedicated area for liquid packaging. The B&L area, in Hall 3, focuses on buyers of alcohol and non-alcohol beverages and covers nearly 14 percent of the total exhibit surface with 143 exhibitors. B&L will feature printing-marking-coding and labels as well as secondary, transport and handling packaging machines.
The three remaining halls will feature packaging machines, a “smart package” display, secondary packaging, raw materials, printing and decorating equipment for packaging as well as handling and storage equipment. One hall will be devoted to packages themselves. It will feature packaging and containers for liquid goods such as water, soft drinks, fruit juices, dairy-based beverages, beer, wine, spirits and others in addition to food, beauty and health packages.
In addition to Emballage Technical Conferences, with bilingual presentations of topical packaging issues, The Pack.Vision Congress also will be held alongside the exhibition. World-leading packaging design agencies will give their take on trends and future strategies. The Pack.Vision program will feature several seminars over two days, all addressing issues in the packaging field. This year’s event also will present the results of an international study, “Packaging Changes and Challenges in the New Context of Distribution.”
Emballage will be co-located with IPA, the World Food Process Exhibition. Taking place Nov. 20-23, IPA offers solutions, products and equipment for food from initial processing to food packaging. This year’s IPA, located in adjacent halls, will be divided into equipment for solid, liquid and non-liquid products, IPA Multifiliere, and equipment for meat products and fish, IPA Matic.
