Brown-Forman Corp.’s Woodford Reserve brand extended its Master’s Collection with limited-edition Maple Wood Finish whiskey. The whiskey is the first bourbon to be aged in barrels made from toasted sugar maple wood, which imparts the whiskey with hints of maple, honey and cinnamon, the company says. In its fifth year, Woodford Reserve’s Master’s Collection changes one of the five sources of flavor, which are grain, water, fermentation, distillation and wood-aging, to create a new flavor profile. The Master’s Collection whiskeys are bottled in proprietary packaging inspired by the copper pot stills of The Woodford Reserve Distillery. The distillery released 1,676 cases of Woodford Reserve Maple Wood Finish in 45 U.S. markets and select international markets for $89.99 for a 750-ml. bottle.
