Skyy Infusions Pineapple
 
Skyy Spirits released Skyy Infusions Pineapple to its line of Skyy Infusions. The flavor joins Citrus, Cherry, Passion Fruit, Raspberry and Grape varieties. Skyy Infusions Pineapple is created by using Skyy Vodka infused with real fruit, the company says. The product is available in 50-ml., 750-ml. and 1-liter bottles. A 750-ml. bottle retails for $18.49.
 
Odwall Protein Monster
 
Odwalla Inc., a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Co., added Vanilla Protein and Chocolate Protein to its line of Protein Monster beverages. Each 15.2-ounce bottle contains 33 grams of soy and dairy protein, and Vanilla Protein also has vanilla extract. Vanilla and Chocolate Protein carry vitamins B6 and B12, calcium, zinc, potassium, copper and iron. The new flavors join Super Protein Vanilla Al’Mondo and Super Protein Original.
 
Jones Gaba
 
Jones Soda Co. debuted Jones Gaba, a tea and juice blend with the amino acid Gaba. Jones Gaba contains PharmaGaba, which is thought to improve mental focus, balance and clarity, while reducing stress, the company says. The beverage is available in Fuji Apple, Lemon Honey, Nectarine and Grapefruit flavors. Each 12-ounce can contains 150 mg. of PharmaGaba and retails for $2.99.
 
Amp Energy
 
PepsiCo introduced Amp Energy Lightning, Amp Energy with Black Tea and Amp Energy with Green Tea, three flavor extensions to its Amp line. Amp Energy Lightning is a lemonade flavor with L-carnitine; Amp Energy with Black Tea contains amino acids and antioxidants; and Amp Energy with Green Tea offers antioxidants as well as beta-alanine.
 
The company also launched Bloodshot Super Energy Supplement, an energy drink made with blood orange and dragonfruit juices. Bloodshot contains electrolytes and 150 percent of the daily recommendation for C and B vitamins. The flavor extensions and Bloodshot are packaged in 16-ounce cans that retail for $2.29.
 
Vapor Water
 
Arizona Beverage Co. created Vapor Water, a vapor-distilled water infused with a blend of electrolytes. During the distillation process, environmental pollutants are removed from the vapors, and then the clean water is combined with calcium, magnesium and potassium, the company says. The formula is designed to help increase the rate of hydration and enhance performance during physical activity. A 25.3-ounce bottle and 33.8-ounce bottle retail for $1.29 and $1.59, respectively.
 
Sunkist Naturals Smoothies
 
Sunkist Naturals, owned by Maverick Brands, added Pomegranate Sunshine and Tangerine flavors to its line of smoothie beverages. Pomegranate Sunshine contains vitamins A, C and B as well as 4 grams of fiber per bottle. Tangerine carries 2.5 pounds of tangerine juice squeezed into a bottle and 420 mg. of potassium, the company says. The flavors join Strawberry Dream, Golden Mango, Berry Blue Bountiful, 100% Valencia Orange, Orange Cream, Berry Cherry Bountiful and Glorious Greens. All varieties are available in 15.2-ounce and 1-liter bottles, which retail for $2.79 and $3.99, respectively.
 
The company also introduced Sunkist Light 80 Calorie Smoothies with 40 percent fewer calories and carbohydrates than traditional smoothies, the company says. The Light Smoothies carry less sugar and are low in fat. The smoothies are available in Strawberry Banana, Blackberry Blueberry and Pomegranate Cherry flavors. All flavors contain high amounts of vitamin C, the company says.
 
O.N.E. Coconut Water with a Splash
 
O.N.E. Natural Experience released O.N.E. Coconut Water with a Splash and O.N.E. Water at Natural Products Expo West in March. O.N.E. Coconut Waterwith a Splash is a blend of coconut water and tropical flavor, the company says. The product is available in Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Mango and Pink Guava varieties. The 8.5-ounce Tetra Pak retails between $1.29 and $1.49.
 
O.N.E. Natural Experience is donating all profits from O.N.E. Water to non-profit organizations such as the American Cancer Society and Disabled American Veterans, among others. The product is produced with spring water sourced from Eastern Canada. Packaged in 16.9-ounce Tetra Paks, O.N.E. Water retails between $1.49 and $1.79. O.N.E. Coconut Water with a Splash and O.N.E. Water will appear on retail shelves in June.
 
RTD Puerh Tea
 
Numi Organic Tea expanded its offerings with ready-to-drink bottled teas, including five varieties of Puerh Tea blends and one Rooibos Herbal blend. Numi Organic RTD Puerh teas are available in Mango Passion Puerh Black Tea, Earl Grey Puerh Black Tea, Magnolia Jasmine Puerh Green Tea, Peach Nectar Puerh Green Tea and Moroccan Mint Puerh Green Tea flavors. In addition, Honey Lemon Rooibos Teasan is available as an herbal, caffeine-free option. A 12-ounce bottle retail for $2.79.
 
Crispin Natural Hard Apple Cider
 
Crispin Cider Co. launched Crispin Natural Hard Apple Cider. The product is available in three varieties: Original, Brut and Light. Original is 5 percent alcohol by volume, Brut is 5.5 percent alcohol by volume and Light is 3.2 percent alcohol by volume. All Crispin flavors are fermented with red wine yeasts as well as not-from-concentrate apple juice blends. A four-pack retails for $6.99.
 
Stirrings Bar Solutions
 
Stirrings released Bar Solutions, juice mixers in eco-friendly shelf-stable cartons. Bar Solutions are available in Bloody Mary, Mojito, Margarita, Cosmopolitan, Pomegranate and Wild Blueberry flavors. The 1-liter cartons were crafted from renewable raw materials through a resource-efficient process, which reduces CO2 emissions, the company says. The product is being sold to on-premise bars and restaurants through a national network of foodservice and liquor distributors. Bar Solutions does not contain alcohol.
 
Ito En teas
 
Ito En launched Oi Ocha Dark Green Tea, Jasmine Green Tea and Golden Oolong Tea, three traditional Japanese teas. The line extensions feature Japanese package labels to reflect the traditional Japanese taste of the unsweetened and calorie-free infusions, the company says. Oi Ocha Dark Green Tea has a robust flavor; Jasmine Green Tea is infused with Jasmine flowers; and Golden Oolong Tea is a blend of Golden Cinnamon and Iron Goddess, although the teas are steeped separately. A 16.9-ounce bottle retails for $1.99.
 
Drenchers Super Blends Mocha Cappuccino
 
Drenchers added Super Blends Mocha Cappuccino to its line of Super Blends. Mocha Cappuccino combines Sumatra coffee, purified water and non-fat milk with chocolate. Each 9.5-ounce bottle features Bodyguard, the company’s antioxidant package, which includes vitamins A and E, zinc, non-fat milk, calcium, magnesium and niacin.

Hint Essence Water re-launched Hint Kids targeted as a grab-and-go drink pack for kids, the company says. The kids’ drinks are available in Strawberry-Kiwi, Tropical and Watermelon flavors. Hint Kids is packaged in 11-ounce Tetra Paks, which is a new package for the product.

Leinenkugel Classic Amber

The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. released Leinenkugel’s Classic Amber, a malted lager. Classic Amber is a blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. The product contains 4.9 percent alcohol by volume and is available in bottles in six- and 12-packs and on draft. Classic Amber retails for $6.99 to $7.99 for a six-pack.

Raw Foods International Inc. released Raw, a line of unpasteurized, preservative-free vegetable and fruit juices. When a beverage is pasteurized, many of the nutrients are killed, the company says. Raw uses ingredients that have a medicinal value to the body, such as cucumber, which cools the body down, it says. Raw is available in Cucumber Pineapple Juice, Cranberry Ginger, Carrot Lemonade, Tropical Medley and Beetroot Magic flavors. A 16-ounce bottle retails for $3.89.

This article is a conglomerate of new products offerings in March 2009. Naked Juice, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Purchase, N.Y., added Acai Machine to its line of Machine smoothies. Acai Machine includes 178 acai berries, 14 Concord grapes, two apples, one banana and three-quarters of a plum in every bottle. The product also carries the antioxidant benefits of beet, black currant and elderberry. Each 15.2-ounce bottle contains more than three servings of fruit and retails for $3.79.

Gatorade Focus

The Gatorade Co., a division of PepsiCo, reformulated its Gatorade Tiger Focus. The product includes theanine, which when combined with carbohydrates and hydration, helps promote mental focus, the company says. Gatorade Tiger Focus also provides vitamin E, and has half the calories and 25 percent more electrolytes than Gatorade Thirst Quencher. Gatorade Tiger Focus will be available at grocery stores in a 32-ounce bottle and 16.9-ounce eight-packs, and at convenience stores in a 32-ounce and 16.9-ounce bottles.

Monster Beverage Co. released Monster Hitman Energy Shooter. The 3-ounce energy shot provides consumers a 5,000-mg. energy blend, including glucose, L-carnitine, caffeine, inositol, guarana, glucuronolactone and maltodextrin. No more than one bottle should be consumed every four hours, the company says. Monster Hitman Energy Shooter features the iconic ‘M’ in front of a circular target on the bottle. Each 3-ounce shot retails for $2.99.

The Coca-Cola Co. unveiled Sprite Green, a reduced-calorie beverage made with Truvia, Coca-Cola’s stevia-based natural sweetener. Sprite Green contains 50 calories per 8.5-ounce serving and 5 percent lemon juice. The beverage was created to appeal to active young adults, the company says.

Stevia-sweetened juices
 
Odwalla Inc., a part of The Coca-Cola Co., introduced two reduced-calorie drinks to its product portfolio. Odwalla Mojito Mambo juice drink, with vitamins C and E, and Odwalla Pomegranate Strawberry juice drink from concentrate, with vitamins C and E, are fortified to provide 50 percent of the daily value of antioxidant vitamins C and E. Both are sweetened with Truvia, Coca-Cola’s stevia-based sweetener, organic evaporated cane juice and fruit juices, and contain 50 calories per 8-ounce serving. Truvia is a zero-calorie sweetener that uses rebiana, which comes from the leaves of the stevia plant. Both products are available in 15.2-ounce bottles and retail for $3.29.
 
Coffee and energy
 
Starbucks Coffee Co. and PepsiCo launched Cinnamon Dulce, a new flavor in its line of ready-to-drink Doubleshot Energy + Coffee drinks. Cinnamon Dulce contains coffee, B vitamins, guarana and ginseng. Each 15-ounce can retails for $2.59 and 12-pack cases are available at grocery and club store locations. The new flavor joins Doubleshot Energy + Coffee Mocha, Vanilla and Coffee flavors.
 
Kids’ nutritional drink
 
Nestle HealthCare Nutrition developed and launched Boost Kid Essentials Nutritionally Complete Drink. The drink gives kids ages one through 13 immune-strengthening probiotics, the company says. Boost Kid Essentials Drink is fortified with 25 vitamins and minerals, and contains 7 grams of protein, antioxidants and 244 calories. In addition, the beverage is lactose and gluten free. A six-pack of 8.25-ounce containers retails for $11.89.
 
Flavored water
 
Power Trip Beverages partnered with Mount Olympus Waters Inc. to re-introduce Kwencher flavored water. Kwencher is a non-carbonated water and contains 100 percent the daily requirements of vitamin C. The product is available in Berry-Berry, Cherry-Cherry, Strawberry Lemonade, Orange Crème, Kiwi Strawberry and Strawberry Vanilla flavors. A bottle retails for $0.99.
 
Fit and lean
 
NBI Juiceworks added Drenchers Fit ‘N Lean Power to its lineup. The drink contains 20 calories per 8-ounce serving. Fit ‘N Lean Power is Orange-Crème flavored and provides 2 grams of lean protein. It is available in shelf stable 12-ounce and 64-ounce sizes. In addition, it also contains “Bodyguard,” the company’s fortification package of vitamins, nutrients, amino acids, electrolytes and herbs including L-arginine, creatine, glutamine and vitamins B3, B5, B6, B12, A, C and E.
 
Peruvian beer
 
MillerCoors launched Cusqueña, a Peruvian beer made from Saaz hops and glacier water from a source at 18,000 feet in the Andes Mountains. The product contains 130 calories per 11.2-ounce serving and is 4.8 percent alcohol by volume. The teardrop-shaped bottle features a depiction of the 12-angle stone, an example of Inca masonry that can be found in the walls of Cusco. Cusqueña initially is available in Rhode Island.
 
Fruit and weight management
 
Tree Top introduced Trim, a beverage that provides a full fruit serving coupled with weight-management functionality. Each 8-ounce serving contains one serving of fruit, in addition to fiber, chromium to promote healthy metabolism, and L-carnitine to burn fat, the company says. The product is available in Strawberry Kiwi, Mango Peach and Pomegranate Blackberry flavors. Trim is packaged in 8-ounce cans and 46-ounce bottles. The bottles retail for $3.99 to $4.99.
 
Berry energy
 
Crunk Energy Drink released Crunk Berry, an energy drink with grape and acai juices. Crunk Berry does not contain artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. It joins Crunk’s Original and Sugar Free Crunk, which are both Pomegranate flavored, and Crunk Citrus. The 16-ounce cans retail for $1.99 to $2.29.
 
Single-malt whisky
 
Pernod Ricard and Chivas Brothers unveiled Scapa, a 16 Year Old single-malt whisky. The design of the bottle is inspired by the beauty and colors of the landscape of Orkney Island, the company says. The 750-ml. bottle of Scapa 16 Year Old retails for $75.
 
Century-old stouts
 
The Boston Beer Co. introduced Samuel Adams Imperial Series, a beer inspired by centuries-old stouts. The two beers of the Imperial Series include Samuel Adams Imperial White and Samuel Adams Imperial Stout. Imperial White is brewed with East Kent Goldings hops and Caramel 60 and Munich malts. It also carries dark chocolate, coffee and anise flavors. Imperial Stout is brewed with 10 spices and a blend of two-row Harrington, Munich and Metcalfe malts, malted wheat, and Hallertau Mittelfrueh Noble hops. A four-pack retails for $9.99.
 
Fruit-flavored water
 
The Coca-Cola Co. launched Dasani Essence flavored water beverages. Dasani Essence contains no sugar, preservatives or calories. The product is available in Lime Essence, Strawberry Kiwi Essence and Black Cherry Essence flavors. Dasani Essence is packaged in 18.5-ounce PET bottles and 16-ounce four-packs. The 18.5-ounce bottle retails for $1.49, and a four-pack retails for $3.99.
 
Local vodka
 
Philadelphia Distilling launched Penn1681 Rye Vodka, a spirit made from local, organic and indigenous ingredients. A column still was used to make the vodka because it allowed for better separation of the alcohols and produced a more congener-free, neutral spirit, the company says. The grains used to make Penn1681 Rye Vodka are locally sourced from local farmers when new deliveries of organic rye are made. The 750-ml. bottle retails for $20.

Dry soda flavors

Dry Soda Co. released two new flavors for the first time since 2005. The flavors are Juniper Berry and Vanilla Bean, and the sodas join the company’s Kumquat, Lavender, Lemongrass and Rhubarb flavors. Vanilla Bean Dry contains 60 calories and is aromatic and lightly sweet; and Juniper Berry Dry carries 50 calories and is accentuated with a pine essence, the company says. The products also are made with fruit or herb extracts and sweetened with 14 to 19 grams of cane sugar. The sodas are packaged in 12-ounce single-serve bottles and four-packs, which retail for $1.69 and $5.99, respectively. Twelve-bottle shippers also are available online.
