Activate Drinks, Newport Beach, Calif., announced that it has expanded distribution of its Activate nutrient-enhanced water line into the New York City market.
According to a new study from New York-based Nielsen, 60 percent of global consumers with Internet access prefer to buy new products from a familiar brand rather than switch to a new brand.
Deerfield, Ill.-based Beam Inc. announced a definitive agreement to sell its Wolfschmidt vodka, Calvert, Bellows, Dark Eyes vodka, Canada House Canadian and Tempo Triple Sec brands and related inventory to Luxco, a St. Louis-based producer, importer and marketer of beverage alcohol products, for $65 million.

Beginning Jan. 16, Longmont, Colo.-based Oskar Blues Brewery is celebrating the I Love Beer mini-tour at all Old Chicago locations in Colorado. The 25 restaurants will host Pint Nights including beer tastings and other celebratory events through Feb. 3, with many locations hosting multiple events throughout the tour.
Bolthouse Farms, a subsidiary of Camden, N.J.-based Campbell Soup Co., unveiled its new Innovation Center at its Bakersfield, Calif., headquarters. The facility is designed to accelerate new product development and enhance current Bolthouse Farms offerings across the company’s portfolio of beverages, salad dressings and fresh carrots, the company says. The Innovation Center will integrate marketing and research to create new products intended to help consumers make healthy choices, it says.
Modelo Especial, a brand imported by Crown Imports LLC, Chicago, capped off 2012 with more than 43 million cases in annual depletions, making it the third import beer to achieve 40 million cases sold in one calendar year, the company says.
Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin’ Donuts announced its plans to expand into Southern California. The quick-service restaurant chain says it has been strategically expanding in contiguous markets across the country with a long-term goal of having more than 15,000 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the United States alone.
New Belgium Brewing, Fort Collins, Colo., announced that the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) has purchased the balance of company shares, making it 100-percent employee-owned.
