The Pepsi-Lipton Tea Partnership announced the launch of Lipton Sparkling Green Tea. The product is a blend of fruit flavors, green tea and sparkling water. Lipton Sparking Green Tea is available in regular Berry and both diet and regular Strawberry Kiwi. The flavors are packaged in 20-ounce and 1.5-liter bottles, and 16.9-ounce 12-packs.

Propel

PepsiCo Inc. relaunched Propel in a new lighter bottle that uses 33 percent less plastic and 30 percent less label material than the previous bottles. It also added a Blueberry Pomegranate variety and launched two new sub lines with added nutrients: Propel Body and Propel Mind. Propel Body is available in Peach Mango and contains 10 percent of the daily value of fiber, the company says. Propel Mind comes in Black Cherry, and contains vitamin E, plus choline. The new flavors and packaging are available in 20- and 24-ounce bottles, as well as 16.9-ounce six- and 12-packs. A 20-ounce bottle retails for $1.59

Sunkist Naturals Lemonade

Sunkist Naturals, owned by Maverick Brands, added Sunkist Naturals Lemonade to its line of juices. The Lemonade contains antioxidants and no preservatives. The flavor is seasonal and replaces the Tangerine SKU. The company will begin production of Tangerine again in the fall. Sunkist Naturals Lemonade is packaged in 15.2-ounce bottles and retails for $2.99.

Adina Holistics
 
Adina For Life Inc. launched a new beverage line of herbal elixers called Adina Holistics. The drinks are available in five varieties: Honey Eucalyptus, Peach Amalaki, Blackberry Hibiscus, Honey Lemon Aloe and Mango Orange Chamomile. Adina for Life based the line on the ideas of the 5,000-year-old traditional Chinese medicine of Ayurveda. Each variety is based on adaptogenic herbal extracts thought to benefit the body, the company says. A 14-ounce bottle retails for $1.99.
 
Samuel Adams Longshot Variety Six-Pack
 
As part of the 2008 Samuel Adams American Homebrew Contest, The Boston Beer Co. released the Samuel Adams LongShot Variety six-pack. Alex Drobshoff’s Traditional Bock won the contest, and his brew joins Mike McDole’s Double IPA and Samuel Adams employee Carissa Sweigart’s Cranberry Wit in the pack. The variety six-pack will include two bottles of each person’s brew. A six-pack retails for $9.99.
 
Guinness 250 Anniversary Stout
 
Guinness, from Diageo, introduced Guinness 250 Anniversary Stout, a limited-edition stout. Guinness 250 Anniversary Stout is made using a double brew stream that combines ale and stout malts. It also uses Guinness yeast, roasted barley, and is triple hopped. The stout is a maltier and fizzier version than the original Guinness, the company says. The stout celebrates Arthur Guinness’ signing of a 9,000-year lease in 1759 at St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, the company’s flagship brewery. The product is 5 percent alcohol by volume.
 
Drenchers Fit ‘N Lean
 
NBI Juiceworks added Drenchers Fit ‘N Lean Iced Coffee to its line of Fit ‘N Lean blends. The product contains 100 calories, 21 grams of carbohydrates and 5 grams of protein. Each 9.5-ounce bottle features a “Bodyguard” nutritional package, the company’s antioxidant blend, which includes vitamins A and E, zinc, non-fat milk, calcium, magnesium and niacin.
 
Miller Chill
 
MillerCoors reformulated Miller Chill, now with 100 calories and 4 grams of carbohydrates per 12-ounce bottle. In addition, it changed the packaging to a clear bottle to reflect the light beer inside, the company says. The new bottle is available in six- and 12-packs, as well as slim can 12-packs.
 
Tranquila
 
Vitila Brands introduced Tranquila, a line of 2-ounce, non-alcohol “Relaxation Shots” that provide stress relief, the company says. The product is offered in daytime and nighttime formulas, and contains zero calories and zero carbohydrates. Tranquila is available in a Green Tea-Lemon flavor, and both Tranquila Original and Tranquila PM retail for less than $3.
 
Arizona Organic Iced Tea
 
Arizona Beverage Co. released a new line of USDA certified organic iced tea. The honey, cane juice, fruit juice and antioxidants are all sourced organically. The Arizona Organic Iced Tea line includes Arizona Green Tea as well as Yumberry Green Tea and Pomegranate Green Tea. The organic teas are available in 20-ounce glass bottles, and contain 50 calories per 2.5-ounce serving. A bottle retails for $1.79.
 
Red Stag
 
Beam Global Spirits & Wine Inc. launched Red Stag by Jim Beam, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey infused with natural flavors. The corn and oak taste of Red Stag is accented by a hint of black cherry, the company says. The product is 80-proof, and a 750-ml. bottle retails for $17.99. Red Stag also is available in 50-ml. and 1-liter sizes.
 
Beefeater24
 
Pernod-Ricard USA introduced Beefeater24, a new gin made from 12 botanicals including a blend of teas. Beefeater24 takes its name from the 24-hour steeping process, the company says. The product is a blend of grapefruit, bitter almond, orris root and Seville orange peel. It also includes accents of Japanese sencha tea and Chinese green tea. The product is 45 percent alcohol by volume, and a 750-ml. bottle retails for $28.99.
 
Hint Waters
 
Hint Inc. unveiled four new flavors to its line of waters. The flavors include Hibiscus Vanilla, Watermelon, Honeydew Hibiscus and Blackberry. All four flavors are all-natural and sugar-free, the company says. The flavors join Mango-Grapefruit, Pomegranate-Tangerine, Lime, Raspberry-Lime, Peppermint, Pear, Tropical Punch, Cucumber and Strawberry Kiwi varieties.
 
Ooba Hibiscus & Blackberry
 
Ooba Beverage expanded its line of lightly sweetened sparkling hibiscus beverages to include Ooba Hibiscus & Blackberry, Ooba Hibiscus & Vanilla and Ooba Hibiscus & Pineapple. The three flavors are made from all-natural ingredients such as purified water, hibiscus extract and cane sugar. The flavors are additions to Hibiscus, Hibiscus & Lime and Hibiscus & Orange varieties. A 16-ounce bottle retails for $2.49.
 
Zun Brain Boosting Energy
 
Fuzzee Bee Beverage Co. introduced Zun, Brain Boosting Energy. The carbonated energy drink is packaged in a 12-ounce bottle shaped like a rocket. Zun Brain Boosting Energy is a blend of nutraceuticals including coenzyme Q10, ginkgo biloba and choline. The product also carries vitamins B12, B6, C and E, as well as 100-mg. of caffeine. Zun Brain Boosting Energy is designed to fit all convenience store rack and standard auto cup holders, the company says. Weight and Balance and Rock-It Woman flavors will be available by the end of the year. A bottle retails for $2.58.
 
Fanta Orange
 
The Coca-Cola Co. reformulated Fanta Orange with 100 percent natural flavors. The Fanta line also received new packaging that includes illustrations and graphics. Fanta Orange is the first flavor of the Fanta family to have 100 percent natural flavors. Fanta Apple and Fanta Grapefruit will join in the 100 percent natural flavor line by the end of the summer. Fanta Orange is available in 12-ounce cans, 20-ounce bottles, 2-liter bottles and multi-packs.
 
Solixir
 
SOL Elixirs released Solixir sparkling botanical beverages in the United States. Solixir is a blend of sparkling spring water, fruit juice and more than 1,700 mg. of standardized natural botanicals in each can, the company says. The product is available in Blackberry Chamomile, Orange Mate and Pomegranate Ginger flavors. A 12-ounce can retails for $1.99.
 
Hennessy Black
 
Hennessy Cognac launched Hennessy Black in 10 markets throughout the United States, including Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New York City, Ohio, Washington, D.C., and Massachusetts. Packaged in a black bottle, Hennessy Black is a blend of 35 to 45 pale and gold colored eaux-de-vie selected for their floral characteristics, the company says. The product is aged for at least five years in French oak barrels previously used by Hennessy. One-liter bottles are available in select markets, and a 750-ml. size will be available in all markets in September.
 
Pre Probiotic Enhancer
 
PRE Beverage Co. launched PRE Probiotic Enhancer, a juice drink enhanced with a prebiotic blend developed by Jarrow Formulas. PRE is available in Pomegranate Yumberry, Peach Mango, Pomegranate Blueberry and Pomegranate White Tea varieties. A 16.9-ounce bottle of PRE carries 3.5 grams of prebiotics and is sweetened with stevia and organic cane sugar. The original flavors of PRE are Pomegranate Blueberry, Acai Acerola and Passion Orange Guava.
 
Achievone
 
Skylarhaley reintroduced Achievone, a high-protein beverage with new packaging, graphics and flavors. The packaging on the 8.25-ounce Tetra Pak Prisma carton graphics are similar to the previous glass bottles, the company says. Achievone is available in Cappuccino, Mocha Java, Vanilla Nut, Hazelnut Crème, Vanilla and Chocolate flavors. All varieties contain 80 calories per serving, 15 grams of protein, 18 vitamins and minerals, and 3 grams of sugar. A carton retails for $2.79.

Red Bull USA expanded its line of energy drinks with Red Bull Energy Shot and Red Bull Sugarfree Shot. Red Bull Energy Shots are concentrated, non-carbonated versions of Red Bull Energy Drink. Red Bull Energy Shot and Red Bull Sugarfree Shot contain taurine, glucuronolactone and caffeine, and 25 and 2 calories, respectively. In June, both products will be available in re-sealable 2-ounce bottles.

Skinny Water Wake Up
 
Skinny Nutritional Corp. introduced Skinny Water Wake Up, a new “breakfast” flavor to its Skinny Water line. Skinny Water Wake Up is a blend of orange, cranberry and tangerine flavors, and each 16-ounce bottle contains 250 percent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C, the company says. The product also has EGCG, a green tea extract, calcium, potassium, and vitamins A and E. Skinny Water Wake Up joins Acai Grape Blueberry, Raspberry Pomegranate, Goji Fruit Punch, Lemonade Passionfruit and Peach Mango Mandarin flavors.
 
Santa Cruz Organic Mango Lemonade
 
Santa Cruz Organic, a subsidiary of Smucker Quality Beverages Inc., released Santa Cruz Organic Mango Lemonade. The product contains mango and lemonade flavors from concentrate as well as 11 percent juice. The Mango Lemonade variety joins Lemonade, Limeade, Strawberry Lemonade and Raspberry Lemonade. A 32-ounce bottle retails between $2.89 and $3.39. Mango Lemonade will hit retail shelves in June.
 
Chiquita Frozen Fruit Smoothies
 
Chiquita Brands International Inc., in a partnership with Old Orchard Brands, Sparta, Mich., launched a line of frozen fruit smoothies made with Chiquita bananas. Chiquita Frozen Fruit Smoothies are packaged in 12-ounce plastic cans, which provide three 8-ounce servings when blended with ice and water. Each smoothie serving contains at least a half-cup of fruit and 100 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C, the company says. The smoothies are available in Strawberry Banana, Banana Colada, Peach Mango and Mixed Berry flavors. A can retails for $2.69.
 
Sierra Mist Ruby Splash
 
Pepsi-Cola North America, Purchase, N.Y., introduced Sierra Mist Ruby Splash, a grapefruit-flavored line extension to the company’s lemon-lime soft drink portfolio. Sierra Mist Ruby Splash is offered in regular and diet versions, in 20-ounce and 2-liter bottles, 12-packs and 12-ounce cans. The product is the first Sierra Mist line extension that will be available year-round.
 
Steaz Energy Shot
 
The Healthy Beverage Co. released Steaz Energy Shot. The product contains 150 mgs. of plant-based caffeine. Steaz Energy Shot contains the same ingredients as Steaz’s 12-ounce Energy Drink, including organic, Fair Trade certified green tea, Sambazon’s acai juice and Guayaki’s yerba mate. Steaz Energy Shot is packaged in 2.5-ounce bottles and is available in 12-count trays. One shot bottle retails for $2.99.
 
Strawberry Guava flavored Function: Alternative Energy
 
Function Drinks added Strawberry Guava flavored Function: Alternative Energy, and Peach Mango flavored Function: Light Weight to its line of beverages. Strawberry Guava is a blend of catuaba, yerba mate, guarana, muira puma and B vitamins. Peach Mango combines resveratrol, EGCG and gymnema extract, which the company says is added to curb sugar cravings and help maintain normal carbohydrate metabolism. Light Weight is offered in Acai Pomegranate, Blueberry Raspberry and Pink Grapefruit varieties.
 
Vitaminwater10
 
Glaceau Vitaminwater, a division of The Coca-Cola Co., released Vitaminwater10, a low-calorie beverage with 10 calories per serving. The product is available in XXX (Acai-Blueberry-Pomegranate), Essential (Orange-Orange), Energy (Tropical Citrus) and Multi-V (Lemonade) flavors. Vitaminwater10 Essential is sweetened with rebiana, a stevia extract. A 20-ounce bottle retails for $1.49. It also is available in variety packs of 20 and 16-ounce four-packs. Vitaminwater10 is the first low-calorie Vitaminwater extension.
 
JoJo Energy Drinks
 
JoJo Energy Drinks Specialty Beverage & Supplement Inc. introduced JoJo Energy Drinks. The product carries its ingredients in the cap and is mixed just prior to consumption. With a counterclockwise twist of the cap’s top, ingredients drop into the liquid and are mixed after shaking the bottle, the company says. JoJo Energy Drink is available in Orange Sickle, Black Cherry, Super Berry, Citrus Guava, Passion Fruit Mango and Mojito flavors. A 16.9-ounce bottle retails for $3.00.
 
Izze Sparkling Lime
 
Izze Beverage Co. added Izze Sparkling Lime to its line of sparkling juice flavors. Izze Sparkling Lime is a blend of 70 percent juice and 30 percent sparkling water. The 12-ounce bottles initially will be in four-packs at Whole Foods Markets across the country.
 
Bacardi Dragon Berry
 
Bacardi U.S.A. Inc. added Bacardi Dragon Berry to its family of flavored rums. Dragon Berry combines strawberry and dragonfruit flavors. The rum joins Bacardi Limon, Bacardi O, Bacardi Coconut, Bacardi Razz, Bacardi Big Apple, Bacardi Grande Melon and Bacardi Peach Red. Bacardi Dragon Berry is 35 percent alcohol by volume and a 750-ml. bottle retails for $13.99. The flavor also is available in 200-ml., 375-ml., 1-liter and 1.75-liter sizes.
 
Sunny D Smoothies
 
Sunny Delight Beverages Co. launched Sunny D Smoothies, a new line of vitamin-fortified smoothies with as much calcium and vitamin D as milk, the company says. Sunny D Smoothies are available in Orange Whirl and Strawberry Swirl varieties. Packaged in 48-ounce containers, the product retails between $1.48 and $1.89.
 
Serious Madness Black Ale
 
Mad River Brewing Co. released Serious Madness Black Ale, a high-gravity dark-lager built on the company’s Two-Row Pale Malt, North American Specialty Malts and German Carafa. The Ale also is fermented with Mad River’s ale yeast. Serious Madness Black Ale is bittered with Magnum hops, while flavor and aromatics are enhanced by Hallertau and Tettnanger with Willamette hops used to add aroma. A 12-ounce bottle carries 8.6 percent alcohol by volume.
 
Juicy Juice Brain Development and Immunity
 
Nestle Juicy Juice introduced Juicy Juice Brain Development and Juicy Juice Immunity. Both juice drinks are made with natural ingredients, fortified with nutrients and blended with filtered water to reduce the sugar and calorie content, the company says. Juicy Juice Brain Development is available in Grape and Apple flavors. It offers DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid from fish oil. Juicy Juice Immunity comes in Apple and Berry varieties. In addition, the product carries zinc, vitamin C and 3 grams per serving of prebiotic fiber. Juicy Juice Brain Development and Juicy Juice Immunity are packaged in 33.8-ounce Tetra cartons and retail for $2.99.
 
ZT
 
ZredT introduced ZT, a line of antioxidant-rich organic ready-to-drink red teas. ZT is available in Unsweetened, Lemon, Vanilla and Ginseng & Honey flavors. Each tea is made from the rooibos plant, grown in South Africa. ZT is a source of magnesium and natural fiber, and also carries a low glycemic index, the company says. A 16-ounce bottle retails between $1.79. and $1.99.
 
Finlandia Tangerine Fusion
 
Brown-Forman Corp.’s Finlandia Vodka added All-Natural Finlandia Tangerine Fusion to its line of vodkas. The All-Natural Finlandia Tangerine Fusion is the sixth flavored vodka from the company. The product is 40 percent alcohol by volume, and releases floral citrus aromas, the company says. A 750-ml. bottle retails for $18.99.
 
2008 Vermentino and 2008 Morello di Prile
 
The Stianti Mascheroni family debuted its first vintage of Prelius wines. The wines are made with grapes grown in organically farmed vineyards, the company says. The 2008 Vermentino, which the company says has flavors of pineapple and apple, and the 2007 Morello di Prile, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, released this month. The 2008 and 2007 vintages retail for $16 and $22, respectively. Wilson Daniel Ltd. is the U.S. importer for both wines.
 
Malibu Island Melon
 
Pernod-Ricard USA added Malibu Island Melon to its line of rums. The flavor joins Malibu, Malibu Tropical Banana, Malibu Mango, Malibu Pineapple and Malibu Passion Fruit. Malibu Island Melon is packaged in 50-ml., 750-ml., 1-liter and 1.75-liter bottles. A 750-ml. bottle retails for $12.99.
 
Arran Single Malt
 
A. Hardy USA released Arran Single Malt Scotch Whisky finished in Pomerol Bordeaux wine casks. Arran Malt contains hints of vanilla and fruit, the company says. The whisky is matured in oak casks for eight years before being transferred to Pomerol casks for an additional six months. Arran Single Malt is available in 750-ml. bottles.

Starbucks Via Ready Brew

April 15, 2009
Starbucks Coffee Co. launched Via Ready Brew, an instant coffee made with coffee beans sourced from the top 3 percent of the world’s coffee supply, the company says. Via Ready Brew is pre-portioned into single-serve packets and packaged in books of three or boxes of 12, retailing for $2.95 and $9.95, respectively. Colombia and Italian Roast are the initial flavors in the line. The planned national rollout of Starbucks Via Ready Brew is fall of this year, but the product currently is available in Seattle and Illinois Starbucks stores.
