Taster’s Voice
Both of our tasters this month are self-described tequila “freaks,” so we thought tequila liqueur would be right up their alley. While they both liked the package, they had opposing views on the taste. Based on their assessment, it seems consumers who enjoy a sweeter version of tequila will be lining up to try this new addition.
Blue agave libation
Agavero Tequila Liqueur recently hit store shelves nationwide. The liqueur is made in Mexico and features hand-blended 100-percent Blue Agave Añejo and Reposado tequilas, and the essence of Damiana flower, which is an aphrodiasiac, according to the producer. Available in a 750-ml. cactus-leaf embossed green bottle, Agavero is sold for $29.99.

This month’s contenders:
James, 32, banker
Trisha, 31, housewife
Here’s the skinny…

Package
Both loved the package in general. James particularly liked the frosted effects emanating from the bottom of the bottle. The green color was interesting to both as well. Trisha stated she thought the green bottle was a unique positioning point when placed next to other tequila drinks. James added he thought the small size gave the appearance that it was produced in smaller batches.
Taste
Trisha liked the flavor where James did not. When asked to elaborate, James felt that the drink was sweeter than he imagined it would be. Trisha liked the beverage based on its sweeter profile. She said the tequila profile came through while having a sweet and warm finish.
Last Call
When asked what they would pay for this drink, both James and Trisha agreed on approximately the $25-30 range. They were both inclined to give the beverage as a gift as well.
