P.L.Thomas
, Morristown, N.J., and Kaneka Nutrients L.P. announced that P.L. Thomas will represent Kaneka Q10 natural Coenzyme Q10 on an exclusive basis, covering the United States east of the Mississippi.
Vigon International Inc., East Stroudsburg, Pa., has broken ground on a new distribution center that will incorporate state-of-the-art warehouse and logistics management technology, including RFID, WMS and mobile computing. It will house the warehouse, shipping and receiving, and sampling operations, allowing the company to use the vacated space in its current facility to increase manufacturing.
FMC BioPolymer – Food Ingredients has launched a new Web site at fmcbiopolymer.com. The site will include information on Avicel Microcrystalline cellulose, FMC Carrageenan and Protanal Alginate, as well as ideas and trends in the marketplace.
David Michael & Co., Philadelphia, has hired Erica Byerly as a consumer research specialist. Laura Ennis joined the company as senior beverage innovation technologist; Kelly DeFusco was named project leader, bakery cereal; Michele Pittner joined the purchasing department, and Jean-Marc Sierro has been named account manager in the western region. In addition, Marie Cummings has been promoted to manager of food applications and product development; Ken Dorsey has been named senior vice president, director of manufacturing; Erica Reiner vice president, strategic business development; and Shelly Semento vice president of human resources. David Michael Europe has added Christine Deirdarian in sales administration.
