Palatinit, Morris Plains, N.J., has achieved GRAS notification from the FDA for Palatinose. The product is a disaccharide derived from sucrose with a smooth sweetness profile similar to sugar. It has the same calorie content as sugar, is tooth-friendly and has a low glycemic effect.
