Prometheus Springs added new varieties to its line of capsaicin-spiced elixirs: Mango Chili, Citrus Cayenne and Spicy Pear. The beverages contain chili pepper extract that has inherent mood enhancing qualities along with other health benefits, the company says. Mango Chili combines chili pepper with tropical flavors. Citrus Cayenne blends lemon and grapefruit flavors with cayenne pepper. Spicy Pear is a blend of orchard-fresh pear mixed with capsaicin extract. The three new varieties are made with juice and contain 70 calories in each 8-ounce serving. Prometheus Springs drinks are U.S. Department of Agriculture certified organic and kosher. The beverages are available nationally in natural foods stores and select grocery stores for $2.79 for each 16-ounce bottle.
