Event adds session about foodborne disease outbreaks

The 2015 Food Safety Summit, which will take place April 28-30 in Baltimore, will continue its goal of “Providing Solutions for Today and Planning for Tomorrow” with focused sessions on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) updates, a full-day forum on integrating the nation’s food safety system, a session on the 2014 foodborne outbreak and much more.
Following up on last year’s new standards for school meals, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) unveiled its new “Smart Snacks in School” nutrition standards that will affect food and beverages sold in vending machines and a la carte.
