The American Craft Spirits Association (ASCA), International Wine and Spirits Research (IWSR) and Park Street released highlights from the Craft Spirits Data Project at the inaugural Craft Spirits Economic Briefing at the Nomad Hotel in New York. The Craft Spirits Data Project, announced earlier this year, is a research initiative to provide a solid and reliable fact-base for evaluating performance and trends in the U.S. craft spirit industry, the companies say.
Relaunching with a focus on made-from-scratch spirits, Milton, Del.-based Dogfish Head Distilling Co. aimed to provide a premium experience that also disrupts the craft spirits space when it introduced the first selections in its new spirits line, featuring Dogfish Head Analog Vodka, Dogfish Head Compelling Gin and Dogfish Head Whole Leaf Gin, it says.
Premium spirits company Milestone Brands LLC, Austin, Texas, announced the acquisition of American Born Moonshine from Nashville, Tenn.-based Windy Hill Spirits. Milestone Brands LLC, which also recently acquired Dulce Vida Tequila, was formed in February by Eric Dopkins, former chief executive officer of Deep Eddy Vodka, and Chad Auler, co-founder of Deep Eddy Vodka.
