Whether it’s the tortoise and the hare, David versus Goliath or small-market sports teams versus large-market franchises, many Americans have a soft spot for the “little” guy. The same could be said for the U.S. beer market in this year's beer report. According to Chicago-based Mintel’s January 2016 report “Beer – US,” craft beer’s market share of U.S. volume sales nearly doubled from 2010 to 2015 — 5.2 percent vs. 10.2 percent, respectively.
Range of flavors to be available nationwide March 1

Seagram's, a brand of Rochester, N.Y.-based North American Breweries, announced the launch of a new line of hard sodas that will hit shelves nationally March 1. Seagram's Hard Soda will be available in a range of flavors including Cherry Cola, Grape Soda, Lemon n' Lime and Orange Cream, the company says. Lemon n' Lime and Orange Cream now are available early in select Publix stores in the Southeast.
New packaging offers easy way to pair whisky, craft beer

Edrington, the importer of Highland Park Whisky, in partnership with Deare2, launched “7-Packs,” a campaign and new seven-pack packaging that features Highland Park Whisky and six craft beers. This custom carrier holds six craft beers and a 750-ml bottle of Highland Park, the company says.
Charter Oak Brewing Co. LLC released a Legendary Variety 12 Pack that allows craft beer drinkers to sample three Connecticut-brewed beers in one sample pack. The pack features 1687 Brown Ale, Royal Charter Pale Ale and Wadsworth India Pale Ale.
I love baking, particularly making my late mother-in-law’s delicious chocolate-chip-oatmeal-walnut cookies. Although the handwriting on her recipe has faded through the years, the aroma of these cookies brings back wonderful memories of my German Oma.
