The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, marks a major milestone as nearly 70 independent Coca-Cola bottlers across the United States now are running their trucks and bottling operations as a fully refranchised system.
Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co. announced that J. Alexander “Sandy” Douglas Jr. will retire as president of Coca-Cola North America (CCNA). He will be succeeded by James L. “Jim” Dinkins, who currently serves as president of the Minute Maid Business Unit and chief retail sales officer for CCNA.

According to an article on Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co.’s Coca-Cola Journey website, the company acquired Topo Chico, a premium sparkling mineral water. Topo Chico joins The Coca-Cola Co.’s Venturing & Emerging Brands (VEB) unit, it states.
Through its in-house innovation and market testing, The Coca-Cola Co. announced the August launch of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, the reformulation and rebranding of Coca-Cola Zero.
Coca-Cola, Dollar General team up for military campaign

Liquid Management Partners, the manufacturer of Liquid Ice Energy Drink, announced the launch of its first seasonal packaging: Liquid Ice America. With its red, white and blue patriotic packaging, Liquid Ice America will be available throughout the summer in 12-ounce cans at participating retailers in more than 40 states through select Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola distributors.

To celebrate and honor members of the military, Dollar General and The Coca-Cola Co.’s flagship brand released a new Share a Coke patriotic can series honoring service members, veterans and their families, the companies say.
Once again The Coca-Cola Co. and Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) are flipping positions to claim the top spot in Beverage Industry's annual Top 100 Report. Based on 2016 financial sales, AB InBev reclaimed the No. 1 spot as sales were up more than $2 billion compared with 2015 financial sales.
Reyes Holdings to expand into California and Nevada

Reyes Holdings LLC, Rosemont, Ill., announced that it has reached a new letter of intent with Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co. for territory in California and Nevada, including the major metropolitan markets of Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Las Vegas.
Swire Coca-Cola USA, Draper, Utah, announced the completion of refranchising of territories in Oregon from Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co. This refranchising includes the acquisition of four sales and distribution facilities and one production plant in the state. Swire Coca-Cola’s operation of the territories commenced April 29.
