Purchase, N.Y.-based PepsiCo brand Mountain Dew announced a sweepstakes to reward fans with an ultimate mega-gaming experience: the chance to play “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” with three friends on a mega-sized stadium screen. Also, as part of the video game promotion, Mountain Dew is expanding its Mtn Dew Game Fuel line with a new Tropical flavor to join the variety.
The Jack Daniel Distillery launched its “Operation Ride Home” campaign to assist soldiers and their families in traveling home for the holidays. The distillery joined forces with the Armed Services YMCA of Fort Campbell to work with military officials at the installation to identify soldiers and families with particular needs and financial assistance for travel from the base to their homes throughout the United States this holiday season.
Anheuser-Busch InBev’s Budweiser brand announced the debut of its social reality show “Bud United presents: The Big Time” in early 2012 on ABC in the United States. Cast through Budweiser’s social media sites, “Bud United presents: The Big Time” features young adults from around the world fulfilling their dreams, such as racing professional racecar drivers, playing for a global renowned soccer team, pitching a professional baseball game and taking the stage at a major music event. The show will air in the United States on Saturdays on ABC starting Jan. 21, 2012.
Heineken USA, New York City, announced its second annual Black History Month art contest. The brand will provide one consumer of legal drinking age a chance to win $5,000 and an opportunity to have his or her artwork featured in the 2013 Heineken Black History Month advertising campaign, which will span print, digital, point-of-sale and out-of-home advertising nationally in February of next year.
Sprite, a brand of The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, launched a search for undiscovered and “uncontainable” basketball players from around the world. Twenty-four amateur players will be chosen to represent either Team Sudden or Team Intense in the Sprite Uncontainable Game at the 2013 NBA All-Star game in Houston.
