Flavors for diets

The line includes Apple, Blueberry, Chocolate, Fruit Punch, Lemon-Lime, Orange, Peach, Raspberry, Strawberry, Tropical and Vanilla flavors, and the company says they perform well in flavored waters, carbonated soft drinks, 10-25 percent juice drinks, yogurt drinks, flavored milks and ice cream.

Flax seed ingredients
Pizzy’s Milling provides flax seed ingredients packed full of omega-3 fatty acids, dietary fibers, lignan phytoestrogens, antioxidants and other phytonutrients, specifically for nutritional beverages. Whole flax seed provides the advantages of whole-grains with less than 3 percent net carbohydrates, so the ingredients can be used in diet-conscious beverages as well.

More controlled wine fermentation
Chr. Hansen has developed blended yeast products for winemaking that provide controlled fermentation with the flavor benefits of natural fermentation.
“Wild fermentation is potentially great for adding complexity, but can be a gamble because you can get undesirable characteristics and stuck fermentations,” says Rodger Pachelbel of Chr. Hansen distributor GusmerCellulo. “The new concept from Chr. Hansen gives winemakers the best of both worlds — improved complexity found in successful ‘wild’ fermentations, and control and reliability of conventionally inoculated fermentations.”
