When you look at the U.S. spirits market, consumers continue to turn to the whiskey/bourbon segment in large numbers. It stands to reason that the readers of Beverage Industry also might be taken with the spirit segment.

In the Readers’ Choice: New Product of the Month poll for March, the readers of Beverage Industry did just that. Receiving 62 percent of the vote, Stillhouse Black Bourbon won the monthly poll. This win follows the company’s Readers’ Choice: New Product of the Year win for its Spiced Cherry variety, which now will be a permanent addition to the whiskey lineup.

As the brand’s first bourbon, Stillhouse Black Bourbon is a blend of corn, rye, barley and limestone water, distilled and barreled in charred new American oak barrels before being charcoal filtered. The product is then rested and mellowed in roasted small-batch coffee beans, the company says.

Finishing No. 2 in contest was Detoxwater Cryptokiwi with 14 percent of the vote. The sixth flavor to its lineup of aloe-infused water, Cryptokiwi was inspired by the Denver Nuggets’ Mason Plumlee, a longtime ambassador and investor for the brand, whose favorite flavor is kiwi, the company says. The kiwi flavor features a hint of cucumber, it adds.

Rounding out the Top 3 was Pure Leaf Organic Spiced Chai and Organic Strawberry & Garden Mint with 10 percent of the vote. Products of The Pepsi Lipton Tea Partnership, Pure Leaf Spiced Chai features organic black tea paired with a blend of aromatic spices, while Pure Leaf Strawberry & Garden Mint blends organic black tea with strawberry and mint, the company says.

Don’t miss your chance to vote for latest crop of new beverages for the month of April. Voting begins May 4 and will close at 11:59 p.m. ET May 21.
