Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a brand of Diageo plc, London, and actor Nick Offerman, set digital screens ablaze last year with “Yule Log,” a video that provided an enjoyable fireplace-viewing, the company says. Offerman is back at it again this year with another New Year’s Eve video.

“I never make New Year’s resolutions because I apply myself to every day of the year in a fashion that can only be described as ‘resolute,’” Offerman says. “Because I am not a fool, my determined recipe for delicious living naturally involves a responsible savoring of Lagavulin.”

The brand is inviting consumers to follow Offerman’s lead and bid farewell to 2016 by boycotting the Times Square Ball Drop. Instead, it’s encouraging them to spread the spirit of the season with friends and family by streaming Offerman’s New Year’s Eve video during their holiday gatherings, it says.

Additionally, Lagavulin celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2016, and to keep the party going, two new releases have been added to the “My Tales of Whisky” video series: “Nick the Bagpiper” and “Treasure of Lagavulin.” These videos delve into the history and tradition of the iconic brand (and might even be semi-true), the company says. One tells the tale of how Lagavulin came to be, and the other has bagpipes, it says.
