Thump Keg Brewing Co., a division of Diageo North America, introduced two new beer styles: Rye IPA and Agave Amber Ale. Instead of containing distilled spirits the brews use the same mash bill or grain from the respective spirits products that inspired them. The Rye IPA is inspired by George Dickel Whisky and brings a subtle spice with notes of vanilla and smoke, which are balanced with citrus and pine, the company says. Agave Amber Ale is inspired by Peligroso Tequila and uses its signature blue agave. The agave and lemon grass flavor notes in the beer balance malt and hops to create the beverage, according to the company. Both Rye IPA and Agave Amber Ale are available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and in 20-liter kegs.
