KeVita Cleansing Probiotic TonicsKeVita Inc., the Ventura County, Calif.-based maker of KeVita Sparkling Probiotic Drinks, is adding another functional beverage lineup to its portfolio. Launching through an exclusive partnership with Whole Foods Market, KeVita Cleansing Probiotic Tonics will offer restorative benefits and feature significant doses of functional ingredients known to promote cleansing, including kale, red beet, turmeric, ginger and cinnamon, the company says. Each bottle also will include KeVita’s signature blend of four probiotic strains and 100 percent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C. The beverages will be available in more than 300 Whole Foods Market stores in November.

“Tonics have long been used as agents to restore energy and good health,” said KeVita Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder Bill Moses in a statement. “We’ve taken the ancient tonic principles and applied modern expertise and great flavors. This Tonics line offers cleansing function in a bottle that consumers can enjoy and savor.”

KeVita Cleansing Probiotic Tonics initially will be available in Kale Lemon, Red Beet, Turmeric Ginger and Cinnamon flavors. The foundation of these beverages is 30 grams of apple cider vinegar, the company notes.

“Fermented and vinegar-based drinks are on the rise, so we wanted to provide consumers with a bold, powerful taste that is highly functional but distinctly different from the light and refreshing taste of KeVita’s Sparkling Probiotic Drinks,” Moses said.

KeVita Vice President of Marketing Bill Lange added: “More and more consumers are practicing self-managed wellness by eating and drinking their way to a better state of health. We are thrilled people are becoming more savvy about brand attributes and ingredients. KeVita Cleansing Probiotic Tonics were developed to meet the most discerning standards of both function and taste.”

The KeVita Cleansing Probiotic Tonics line joins KeVita’s original Sparkling Probiotic Drinks line and the recently launched line of KeVita Master Brew Kombuchas. All KeVita beverages are low calorie, certified organic, gluten free, non-GMO Project Verified and vegan.

“Our shoppers have long looked to Whole Foods Market as the go-to source for the latest, highest-quality products that support health and wellness, and that’s in large part thanks to brands like KeVita,” said Matt Jimenez, global grocery buyer for Whole Foods Market and internal point person for the development and launch of the Tonics line, in a statement. “They are a true innovator and leader in the industry, and we’re excited to offer their new line of Cleansing Probiotic Tonics exclusively in our stores.”
