Jones Soda Co., Seattle, released its new Jones Sparkling Water line in response to consumer demand for healthier products. The sparkling waters are made with only water and natural flavors and do not contain any added sweeteners, colors or artificial preservatives.

Jones Sparkling Waters are available in four of Jones Soda’s signature flavors — Berry Lemonade, Fufu Berry, Green Apple and Strawberry Lime — and are packaged in 8-ounce cans featuring consumer-submitted photography.

“We are bringing fun into this exploding sparkling water category and in a unique way that appeals to kids,” said Jones Soda Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Cue in a statement. “This is something we are all proud to stand behind. As the mother of a 7 year old, I can identify with parents who are looking for something interesting, fun and healthful to give to their kids for lunches or really anytime. With fun, natural flavors, no added sugar or preservatives, and no added colors, Jones Sparkling Water is a great way to encourage our young children to drink more healthy beverages.”

Jones Sparkling Water joins the company’s portfolio of non-alcohol products, including carbonated soft drinks. Jones Cane Sugar soda is available in premium 12-ounce glass bottles and cans in traditional flavors like Root Beer, Cream Soda and Orange & Cream as well as some of the more adventurous flavors that Jones is known for, it says. Jones Stripped, launched earlier this year, represents the brand’s entry into the natural category. Available in the same 12-ounce glass bottles as its core product line, Jones Stripped contains only 30 calories and 8 grams of sugar and does not have any artificial sweeteners, colors or added preservatives. Targeted to consumers who prefer beverages lighter than full-calorie drinks, Jones Stripped is available in the natural grocery, foodservice and drug channels. Now with the addition of Jones Sparkling Water, the brand is being introduced in a format and package size that can be consumed by a new generation of kids who have a personal connection to the Jones brand through their photo labels but in a way that parents can also feel good about, it adds.

To kick off the product launch, Jones Soda announced its new “Tabs For Tees” program. Consumers are encouraged to collect the tabs from Jones Sparkling Water cans and, for a limited time, send them in to Jones to be redeemed for branded Jones Sparkling Water T-shirts. Details will be available on the company’s website.

Jones Sparkling Water initially will be available in four-packs at Target stores throughout the West and Mountain regions as well as on Jones Soda’s website at www.jonessoda.com. Jones Sparkling Water should become available at various other retailers across the United States in the near future, the company says.
