This summer seems to be all about celebratory beverages, as readers are showing favor with spirits and alternative beverages that support a night out on the patio or on the town. In Beverage Industry’s June New Products poll, readers voted tropical rum beverage Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum as the top beverage posted on www.bevindustry.com during the month.
Rochester, N.Y.-based Fishbowl Spirits and country music star Kenny Chesney added Banana as the rum brand’s fourth variety, joining its original White, Coconut and Coconut Spiced rums. Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum features flavors of creamy banana, warm baking spices, and a caramelized banana finish with notes of white rum, the company says. It contains 26.5 percent alcohol by volume and is mellowed in casks at a Caribbean distillery only 100 yards from the beach.
Voting for the poll took place between July 7 and 18 on www.bevindustry.com, where visitors were asked to vote for their favorite new product that was posted on the website between June 1 and 30.
Site visitors also found favor with Maloof Ventures’ Never Hungover hangover prevention shot, which grabbed 26 percent of the vote; Kendall-Jackson’s Avant wine collection additions, which earned 11 percent of the vote; Vermont Hard Cider Co.’s Woodchuck Hard Cider Cellar Series Ginger, which received 10 percent of the vote; and Chill Brands LLC’s Titan Tea, which earned 9 percent of the vote. These beverages rounded out the Top 5 favorite new products of June, according to Beverage Industry readers.
