Lakefront Brewery celebrates Black Friday with limited-edition beer

Third-annual Black Friday craft beer available one day only

November 21, 2013

For the third year in a row, Milwaukee-based Lakefront Brewery Inc. is celebrating Black Friday with a limited-edition beer. The special brew, Black Friday Imperial India-Style Black Ale, will be available at the brewery on Nov. 29 only.

The 10 percent alcohol by volume dark ale was first created for last year’s Black Friday event and sold out in 90 minutes. This year, the brewery more than quadrupled the size of its batch and will offer 5,000 22-ounce bottles with sales limited to three bottles a person, while supplies last. The first 1,000 people to buy the beer also will receive a limited-edition Black Friday pint glass.

The brewery also is adding is a “bottle swap” component for the 2013 event that encourages participants to bring and trade bottles of rare or unusual beers.

“Black Friday is all about one-day-only, limited-supply deals, so we wanted to offer our customers an exclusive beer worth getting up early for,” said Lakefront’s Director of Business Development Chris Johnson. “[Black Friday Imperial India-Style Black Ale] is a very strong, distinctive dark ale with ample pine and citrus aromas.”

Sales of Black Friday Imperial India-Style Black Ale and Lakefront Brewery's Black Friday event start at 8:00 a.m. on Nov. 29. As part of the festivities, consumers of legal drinking age can enjoy brewery breakfast food and "beermosas," brewery tours, a DJ, and an evening concert by the Brewhouse Polka Kings. Patrons can purchase advanced brewery tour tickets online via the website if they want a guaranteed spot on a specific tour.

Full details about the event can be found on the brewery’s Black Friday website,
