With fall approaching, Seattle-based Starbucks Coffee Co. is bringing back its seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) for the 10th consecutive year. First introduced in 2003, Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte has become the company’s most popular seasonal beverage, with more than 200 million beverages sold since its inception, it says.

The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is a handcrafted espresso beverage that features steamed milk; pumpkin-flavored sauce; and seasonal spices including cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove. The warm beverage is finished with a dollop of whipped cream and Starbucks’ pumpkin spice topping and is customizable to meet customers’ taste preferences.

To commemorate the drink’s 10th anniversary, from Sept. 3 through Sept. 9, customers will receive 50 percent off the price of a PSL 10 tumbler with the purchase of any Pumpkin Spice Latte beverage, available at participating Starbucks stores in the United States and Canada while supplies last. Customers also can purchase specially designed merchandise including the PSL 10 mini Starbucks Card and the PSL 10 tumbler at participating Starbucks retail stores in the United States and Canada as well as online.

“It’s been great to see the trajectory over the past decade, because when we launched PSL 10 years ago — yes, it has a nickname now — we took a bit of a risk on a new innovation,” said Peter Dukes, director of espresso brand management at Starbucks and co-creator of PSL, in a statement. “You just didn’t see pumpkin-flavored food and beverages 10 years ago the way you do today.”

Customers also can enjoy a variety of seasonal food and beverages like the new Chocolate Chai Tea Latte and Salted Caramel Mocha. For customers who want a Starbucks PSL on the go, Starbucks Via Pumpkin Spice Flavored Coffee is returning for a second year. Also returning is the Starbucks Anniversary Blend, available in whole bean, K-Cup packs and Verismo pods.
