Franklin Bott was promoted to the position of global account director at Robertet Flavors, while Jason Baisch joined the company as an account executive in the sales department. In this newly created position, Dabrowski will develop new products with Robertet’s flavor applications team while using his culinary expertise to expand Robertet’s capabilities.

Purchase, N.Y.-based Nutrition 21 LLC announced a distribution and co-promotion agreement with Glanbia Nutritionals North America, Evanston, Ill.  As the exclusive distributor, Glanbia’s capable sales organization will co-market, with Nutrition 21, Chromax chromium picolinate, Selenomax high-selenium yeast, SelenoPure L-selenomethionine and Zinmax zinc picolinate in North America to the food, beverage and dietary supplement industries.

Health Canada’s Food Directorate completed a detailed evaluation and has approved the use of monk fruit extract as a sweetener at a maximum level of use of 0.8 percent in tabletop sweeteners. The assessment also concluded that the available scientific data supported the safety and efficacy of monk fruit extract when used under the proposed guidelines. As such, monk fruit extract will be added to the list of permitted sweeteners in Canada.

 Novel Ingredient Services, West Caldwell, N.J., was named the exclusive U.S. distributor of Quinoasure, an instant, nutritional quinoa powder suitable for use as an ingredient in food, beverages, dietary supplements and meal replacements. The company also will service customers in Canada and Mexico. Additionally, Novel Ingredient Services hired three new executives to help manage the company’s growth: Frank J.
