Pepsi Max hosts second Field of Dreams Game

MLB legends, contest winners take the field May 18 in Rochester, N.Y.

April 9, 2013

For the second consecutive year, Pepsi Max, a brand of Purchase, N.Y.-based PepsiCo, will host a gathering of Major League Baseball (MLB) legends at the 2013 Pepsi Max MLB Field of Dreams Game. This year's game will take place May 18 at Frontier Field in Rochester, N.Y., featuring an American League (AL) vs. National League (NL) match-up with MLB legends and the consumer winners from the Pepsi Max MLB Field of Dreams promotion. MLB legends Wade Boggs, Rickey Henderson, Reggie Jackson, Pedro Martinez and Frank Thomas will represent the AL, and Johnny Bench, Trevor Hoffman, Fred McGriff, Mike Schmidt and Ozzie Smith will represent the NL.

Rochester resident Johnny Perotti and Washington, D.C., resident Stephen Katchmark were selected as the consumer winners in the most recent Pepsi Max MLB Field of Dreams promotion and now have the chance to play a baseball game with some of their all-time favorite players. During the hometown voting competition, Perotti edged out Katchmark to bring the game to Rochester. As the home team, Perotti and five of his friends will join the AL MLB legends to take on Katchmark, his five friends and the NL MLB legends.

"I've been preparing for the Pepsi Max MLB Field of Dreams Game," said Frank Thomas, Pepsi Max MLB Field of Dreams AL team member, in a statement. "The guys on the AL and NL rosters are some of the greatest players of all time, and I am excited to take the field with Johnny, his friends and the other AL legends."

In 2012, Pepsi Max created a real-life "Field of Dreams" at Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio, for the inaugural Pepsi Max MLB Field of Dreams Game and will transform Frontier Field for this year's event.

"Pepsi Max is excited to bring to life our vision for the Pepsi Max Field of Dreams Game in Rochester, N.Y.," said Heidi Sandreuter, senior director of Pepsi sports marketing, in a statement. "We have been planning this for several months and look forward to creating an unforgettable day for Johnny, Stephen, the fans and the community."

Tickets for the Pepsi Max MLB Field of Dreams Game go on sale April 13. For details on how to purchase tickets, visit mlb.com/pepsimax. All tickets are general admission.
