White Rock Beverages, Whitestone, N.Y., acquired Jersey City, N.J.-based Fizzy Lizzy natural sparkling juices, which include its Grapefruit, Cranberry, Raspberry, Lemon, Fuji Apple, Yakima Grape and Tangerine Passion Fruit varieties. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Making their debut in 2000, Fizzy Lizzy beverages feature all-natural ingredients and no added sugar, the company says.. Each product contains approximately 60 percent fruit juice and 40 percent carbonated water.

Founded by Liz Morrill, the company distributes its beverages to cafes and specialty and natural foods retailers, including Fresh Direct, Whole Foods, Fairway, Dean & Deluca and 'wichcraft, in more than 20 states as well as overseas.

White Rock President Larry Bodkin also expressed excitement in making Fizzy Lizzy part of the White Rock family, adding in a statement: "Bringing Fizzy Lizzy under the White Rock umbrella will certainly augment our efforts of producing and offering healthier beverages. Over the past decade, we have shifted our attention to increasing our production of seltzers, mixers and pure cane sugar drinks, as consumers have opted for lighter and healthier beverages.
