Glenfiddich Malt Master Bottle and CaseWilliam Grant & Sons introduced Glenfiddich Malt Master’s Edition. It is the company’s first whisky to be “double matured” in two different casks: traditional oak and sherry. The new variant was created to celebrate the skills of Glenfiddich’s sixth Malt Master, Brian Kinsman. Although many of the brand’s whiskies are finished in different casks, this is the first Glenfiddich whisky to use a full spirit transfer from one cask into another, which gives the whisky an entirely different taste and flavor, the company says. Containing 43 percent alcohol by volume, Glenfiddich Malt Master’s Edition features tastes of sherbet, plum and cherry with hints of toasted almonds and wedding cake, it adds. The release is limited to 18,000 bottles in the United States. One bottle retails for approximately $79.99.
