BodyArmor adds pro football players to roster

BodyArmor SuperDrink, a brand of Los Angeles-based BodyArmor Nutrition LLC, announced that professional football players Jason Pierre-Paul of the New York Giants and LeSean McCoy of the Philadelphia Eagles have joined the company as partners and investors. The announcement comes a week after New England Patriots tight-end Rob Gronkowski joined as a partner of the SuperDrink brand.  

As partners and investors, the trio’s talents will be used in national and regional events, charitable endeavors, product testing and more, the company says.

“Rob, Jason and LeSean all share the common aspiration to be super,” said Lance Collins, founder and chief executive officer of BodyArmor, in a statement. “BodyArmor is a ‘super drink’ because its nutrition and hydration exceed any existing category description. Our young brand partners continually defy any label ascribed to them. On and off the field, they embody what BodyArmor SuperDrink stands for ― they are super.”   

Last year, Pierre-Paul led his team with 16.5 sacks as the New York team went on to win the world title.

“In our sport, super is a special word, because raising that trophy is unlike any other feeling,” Pierre-Paul, said in a statement. “BodyArmor SuperDrink gives me that superior nutrition and hydration to be my best on the field, when it matters most.”

In 2011, McCoy finished with 17 rushing touchdowns among his 20 total touchdowns for Philadelphia.

"Many of my teammates and players in the league are big believers in the BodyArmor brand,” McCoy said in a statement. "I compete hard on the field and drink BodyArmor because it gives me the nutrition and hydration I need to gain that extra yard. There is nothing else like it.”

BodyArmor SuperDrink is available in six flavors: Acai Blueberry Pomegranate, Raspberry Blueberry Goji, Strawberry Banana Guava, Cherry Citrus, Orange Mango and Tropical Citrus.
