To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence, Kobrand Spirits launched Appleton Estate 50-Year-Old Jamaica Rum, which blends rums that have been aged for a minimum of 50 years. In addition to being a rare offering — only 70 bottles are available in the United States — the rum is believed to be the oldest rum available for sale in the world, according to the company. One bottle retails for $5,000 and comes packaged in a hand-blown Glencairn crystal decanter and black lacquered gift box.
