Coney Island Barrel-Aged Human Blockhead lagerShmaltz Brewing Co. launched Coney Island Barrel-Aged Human Blockhead lager. With 10 percent alcohol by volume, the Imperial American Bock was aged for more than five months in first-use Buffalo Trace Kentucky straight bourbon barrels. The lager features the richness of Munich and Vienna malt with a soft and silky texture, and hints of maple, caramel and vanilla, the company says. Coney Island Barrel-Aged Human Blockhead is available in 22-ounce bottles and limited draft at specialty shops and select bars through October. A portion of the proceeds of Coney Island craft lagers will be donated to help Coney Island USA, a non-profit arts organization that aims to keep lost forms of American popular culture in Brooklyn's historic Coney Island neighborhood alive. A 22-ounce bottle retails for $13.99.
