Designed to appeal to malt whisky drinkers, Bacardi-owned Drambuie Liqueur Co.launched Drambuie 15, a refined, drier version of Drambuie whisky. Drambuie 15 features a citrus lemongrass flavor with warming malty notes of butterscotch, berries and heather with a finish of shortbread and fresh herbs. With a suggested retail price of $56 for a 1-liter bottle, Drambuie 15 has a higher price point than original Drambuie, which is expected to appeal to existing consumers who want to trade up as well as to malt whisky experimenters, the company says. The beverage contains 43 percent alcohol by volume.
