Odell's Woodcut No. 5

Woodcut
Odell Brewing will debut Woodcut No. 5, an oak-aged Belgian Quadruple beer at Savor: An American Craft Beer Food Experience in Washington, D.C. on June 3-4. Woodcut No. 5 was aged in new toasted oak, which imparts its own flavors as well as vanilla, Belgian banana and clove flavors into the beer, the company says. A Quadruple Ale brewed with a blend of Belgian ale yeast and Odell’s house ale yeast, Woodcut No. 5 has a rich, spicy dried fruit essence, deep auburn color and hints of cherry, raisin and plum on the palate derived from Special B malt, it says. The brewery also will mark the release of Woodcut No. 5 with a celebration in the brewery’s Tap Room on June 4 where limited-edition signed and numbered woodcut prints by local artist Chris Bates will be available for purchase.
