Mike’s Hard Lemonade releases naturally sweetened option

Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co., Seattle, announced the launch of Mike’s Lite Hard Lemonade made with 100 percent natural sweeteners. Mike’s Lite Hard Lemonade contains fewer calories than the leading light beer, the company says.

The beverage combines real, fresh lemon juice and the company’s proprietary neutral malt base to create a smooth and refreshing taste. Mike’s Lite is available in Lemonade and Cranberry Lemonade varieties, which are both permanent additions to the Mike’s roster of products.

“Innovation is part of the Mike’s DNA and the best ideas for new products start with input from consumers,” said Andy Horrow, chief marketing officer at Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co., in a statement. “When Mike’s fans asked for a product with natural flavors and fewer calories, we made it our mission to create the best tasting light product we could.”

The company is launching Mike’s Lite Hard Lemonade in partnership with Break Media, a leading digital video publisher and a popular comedy website. The partnership will yield a series of original videos that feature Mike’s Lite Hard Lemonade as an alternative for light beer drinkers.

Mike’s Lite Hard Lemonade and Cranberry Lemonade are available in six-packs. The Lemonade also is available in 12-packs.
