As part of Jamaica's Independence anniversary celebration, Jamaica's ambassador to the United States, Gordon Shirley, accepted the first 24-ounce bottle of Red Stripe beer from the Red Stripe Ambassador. The Independence Sunday Market was held in Washington, D.C.,  and helped launched the new size of Red Stripe, now available across the United States.
Grape appeal
Nature's Pearl LLC received the 12th Annual People's Choice award for the best beverage at the National Nutritional Foods Association Expo for its 100% Muscadine Grape Juice. A blind taste test was conducted of 1,000 exhibitors at the Las Vegas show who named Nature's Pearl Muscadine Grape Juice, available in red or white varieties, as the best-tasting beverage.
NASCAR designates a driver
NASCAR's Jamie McMurray and a fleet of replicas of his purple and gold No. 26 Crown Royal car provided free, safe rides home to Indianapolis residents for two nights prior to the Allstate 400 race. As part of Crown Royal's Safe Rides Home program, consumers could sign up at the Crown Royal No. 26 taxi stand for a ride home from McMurray and a team of drivers. A total of 10 cars were provided for free rides home from Diageo, which created the program to emphasize the importance of designated drivers.
Giving back
Following the launch of Izze’s Sparkling Apple flavor, the sparkling juice company will be giving back to the Yakima Valley, Wash., area where the apples were sourced. Izze’s Project REACH will donate English and ESL books in addition to educational materials to the Yakima farm workers’ community. The donations will benefit seven programs for farm works and their families.
Cheers to record breaking
4,086 martini aficionados recently gathered in 50 bars throughout Nantucket, Mass., to break the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous martini toast. Stirrings Cocktail Mixers and Triple Eight Distillery hosted the third annual toast where attendees drank 'Crantucket Mojitos,' a mixture of Triple Eight's Cranberry Vodka and Stirrings Mojito Mixer.
Best bartender named
