Case palletizer
FKI Logistex added a new design and interface options for its A-780 case palletizer. The new options increase the A-780’s capacity and its value as a choice for low- to mid-speed palletizing applications. The A-780 utilizes high-level infeed and right-angle pattern formation to achieve pattern flexibility. Close-center rollers and a bi-parting apron also give the A-780 the ability to handle a wide variety of case and pallet sizes. Its compact footprint is ideal for existing facilities where space is at a premium. A recirculating row pusher is one of several new options offered on the A-780. This feature improves case flow and allows higher palletizing capacities with rates up to 45 case-feet per minute. It is offered as an alternative to the standard reciprocating row pusher.

Valve software
Flowserve Corp. launched the 9.3.0 version of Performance!, the company’s control valve sizing and selection software. Performance! employs industry-standard ISA sizing equations, among other measures, to specify Flowserve control valves and similar competing valve products. Among the new features in version 9.3.0 are additions to the program’s product and options database, as well as improvements to the software engine to increase its speed and ease-of-use. Also enhanced in Performance! version 9.3.0 is the program’s valve noise calculations function. Performance! calculates noise based on the latest IEC standard. Offering detailed valve specification information, such as materials, accessories, actuators and positioners in its database, Performance! provides specifying engineers with complete valve sizing data, including flow, pressure, cavitation and documentation requirements. Performance! is built on a Sybase database engine that allows valve records to be isolated by user and project. It also includes support for 76 individual valve models and 29 actuator models.

Pallet racking
Metalsistem North America introduced the Superbuild series of heavy-duty pallet racking. Superbuild racking features bolted, rather than welded, assembly for fast setup and easy re-configuration to meet the needs of changing operations. Developed for heavy loads, the Superbuild satisfies all pallet racking and drive-in requirements. Drive-in systems, through the elimination of feed corridors, can more than double warehouse storage capacity. Drive-ins come in two standard configurations, single- and double-entry. Compatible with the Metalsistem Unibuild modular racking series, Superbuild is available in three styles with load bearing capacities ranging from 17,000 to 35,000 pounds.

Accumulation system
Hytrol Conveyor Co. Inc. has partnered with Eaton Cutler-Hammer to create a zero-pressure accumulation system. While featuring the same EZLogic familiarity, GEN3 incorporates new technologies for ease of installation, operation and maintenance. EZLogic automatically adjusts the conveyor’s zone length to accommodate the length of the carton being conveyed. In singular mode, longer cartons are efficiently conveyed, providing better control of boxes. This increases carton throughput, accumulation density, conveyor efficiency and system flexibility. If desired, zones may be sized for the smallest carton for the most efficiency.

Blowmolding
Graham Packaging Co. LP developed a new blowmolding technology that produces lighter weight PET bottles without changing design or sacrificing performance characteristics. The first product to emerge from development will be a multi-serve hot-fill bottle. The bottle will be blown in the same mold used for the current, heavier version of the same size bottle. This technology eventually will be rolled out to the entire family of PET hot-fill bottles, and has exactly the same look, height, diameter and footprint as the current version.
