He joins the company from Lance IncJim Beam Brands Worldwide has selected Bill Newlands to lead the U.S. wine business that will result from its acquisition of Allied Domecq’s brands. Newlands previously was president and chief executive officer of Allied Domecq USA Wines… Brown-Forman Wines has named Dan Kopache red varietals winemaker, working at the winery in Hopland, Calif. Charlie Gilmore has become white varietals winemaker, also in Hopland; and Nichole Birdsall has been promoted to winemaker, organic brands, and continues as assistant winemaker for Bonterra Vineyards. In addition to his position as head of Bonterra, Bob Blue has been named director of cellar operations in Hopland, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the winery. Cara Morrison has been tapped as assistant winemaker for Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards… Red Bull distributor Matador Distributing Carolina LLC has promoted John McCorkle to the position of market manager for the Western North Carolina territories… Bruce Held has been named vice president/general manager of Atlanta Wholesale Wine for National Distributing Co., Atlanta… The International Bottled Water Association has appointed Benita Stocks manager of member services and Sabrina Hicks manager of publications and special projects… Luis T. DaSilva has joined Progressive Beverages, Culver City, Calif., as senior vice president of sales and marketing. He will be responsible for the launch of the company’s Han Asian Vodka.
