Woodford Reserve tribute to jockeys

During the Kentucky Derby, Woodford Reserve bourbon offered the world’s most exclusive mint julep cup collection as a tribute to jockeys. The collection included 99 sterling silver cups plated in 24-karat gold, with a select few adorned with diamonds and signed by Triple Crown-winning jockeys Ron Turcotte, Jean Cruguet and Steve Cauthen. The Woodford Reserve $1,000 Mint Julep Cup was available for purchase online. Each cup was packaged in an oak box crafted from the same wood as Woodford Reserve barrels and lined with black satin fabric. Proceeds from the cups benefited The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund and The Robby Albarado Foundation.

Dasani also recognized Girls Inc. and Dress for Success for their support of women through positive, image-building programs.

Most cocktails in one hour

Chris Raph, manager of The Shout House Dueling Pianos, broke the world record for most cocktails made in one hour with 662 cocktails, more than 10 cocktails per minute. The standing record was 389 cocktails. A list of 784 cocktails was submitted to Guinness World Records, and with a crowd of more than 300 onlookers, Raph poured each cocktail, one by one, in order, from that list. The event helped raise $1,435 for the Finnegans Community Fund, a charity that benefits the Minneapolis homeless population.
