New York Spring Water, New York, announced that Tyreke Evans, point guard for the National Basketball Association’s Sacramento Kings, has endorsed VBlast! vitamin water and Aqua84.

Evans joins Queen Latifah, co-owner of New York Spring Water, as an endorser of the beverages. The NBA 2010 Rookie of the Year will be featured in New York Spring Water’s national campaign, which will feature the brand’s new packaging that will appear on the shelves of 7-Eleven stores this month. Evans also will appear in upcoming TV appearances, in commercials and on billboard advertisements in key markets.

“I enjoy VBlast! and Aqua84 not only for their great taste and nutrients, but also because of the company’s commitment to help developing countries drill wells for fresh drinking water,” Evans said, in a statement. “Giving back to those less fortunate is something I enjoy and do every day, so I am excited to be working with a company that does just that.”

The basketball player was the fourth overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft and won the 2010 Rookie of the Year title. Evans is one of only four players, including LeBron James and Michael Jordan, who scored an average of at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists in their rookie season. He works with disadvantaged children in his hometown of Chester, Penn., the company said.
