Odwalla, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, added a Heart Health variety to its Superfood line of smoothies. Heart Health Superfood is a smoothie blending apple, peach, banana and strawberry purees with a touch of purple boysenberry puree and Concord grape juice. The variety also contains 0.4 grams of plant sterols per 8-ounce serving. Plant sterols, which are naturally sourced plant extracts, may help to reduce cholesterol and support cardiovascular health, the company says. Heart Health Superfood also is a good source of vitamin C and potassium. The variety joins Odwalla’s Superfood product family, which includes Original Superfood, Berries GoMega, Red Rhapsody, Pink Poetry and Mo’Beta. Heart Health Superfood smoothie is available nationwide in 450-ml. bottles for $3.29.
