Full Sail Brewery released Black Gold Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 2011. The aged variety was racked for one year in 18 to 20-year-old casks. The aging process adds hints of vanilla and allows the stout to pick up the flavors of the wood, bourbon and oak, the company says. The Imperial Stout also has a strong roasted malt character, full body and chocolate and caramel nuances, it says. Black Gold will be available in 22-ounce bottles and on draught where Full Sail beers are sold.
