G Series and G Series Pro

The Gatorade Co., a division of PepsiCo, introduced the G Series and G Series Pro lines formulated for athletic performance. The G Series features Prime 01, Perform 02 and Recover 03 varieties. Prime 01 is a 4-ounce pouch containing 25 grams of carbohydrates, 110 mg. of sodium and 35 mg. of potassium for pre-workout or pre-game fuel and retails for $1.29 to $1.99. Traditional Gatorade Thirst Quencher and G2 have been rebranded as part of the during workout Perform 02 line. Perform 02 is available in 20-ounce bottles for $1.29 or 32-ounce bottles for $1.39 to $2.19. For post-exercise occasions, Recover 03 contains 16 grams of protein, 14 grams of carbohydrates, 25 mg. of sodium and 95 mg. of potassium. The recovery option is sold in 16.9-ounce bottles for $1.79 to $2.99. The G Series is available in grocery, convenience, mass and drug stores.

In addition, Gatorade introduced the G Series Pro, which features formulas that were originally developed by The Gatorade Sports Science Institute to meet the needs of college and professional athletes, the company says. The line includes G Series Pro Prime Nutrition Shake, Prime Carbohydrate Energy Drink, Perform Endurance formula, Perform Gatorlytes and Recovery Protein Shake. The line is available at GNC and Dick’s Sporting Goods outlets nationwide.
