Davidson’s Organic Teas introduced a line of Fair Trade certified and U.S. Department of Agriculture certified organic herbal Tulsi Teas in tea bags and loose leaf forms. Tulsi is an Indian herb rich in antioxidants and sometimes known as “Holy Basil,” the company says. The herb has an intense minty, buttery flavor and is available from Davidson’s Organic Teas in Pure Leaves, Tulsi Chamomile Flower, Tulsi Spicy Green, Tulsi Rooibos Chai, Tulsi Hibiscus Flower and Tulsi Signature Blend varieties. The teas blend three varieties of tulsi: Krishna, Rama and Vana to create a balanced tea, the company says. The teas are packaged in eight- and 25-count boxes. The company will donate 10 percent of all Tulsi proceeds to its “Aasha (Hope) Fund,” which is designed to improve the lives of the small farmers who grow tulsi, it says.
